Insidious: Chapter 3 is a supernatural horror film that serves as a prequel to the first two films in the Insidious franchise. The story focuses on gifted psychic Elise Rainier, who, after trying to retire her abilities, is reluctantly convinced to help a teenage girl named Quinn Brenner who believes her recently deceased mother is trying to contact her. However, Quinn's attempts to reach her mother unknowingly attract a malevolent demonic entity known as "The Man Who Can't Breathe," which latches onto her, slowly draining her life force. Elise, aided by paranormal investigators Specs and Tucker, must confront her own past and venture into "The Further" to save Quinn from the demon and prevent her soul from being trapped.
The film was released on June 5, 2015. Major actors and actresses include Lin Shaye as Elise Rainier, Dermot Mulroney as Sean Brenner (Quinn's father), Stefanie Scott as Quinn Brenner, and Angus Sampson and Leigh Whannell reprising their roles as Tucker and Specs, respectively.
