The House of the Dead: Overkill is a 2009 on-rails light-gun shooter video game and a non-canonical prequel to the original game. The game is known for its over-the-top action and unique Grindhouse film aesthetic. It was first released for the Wii on February 10, 2009, with an Extended Cut version later released for PlayStation 3 in 2011. A mobile version titled The Lost Reels was made available for iOS and Android in 2013, and a PC version, The Typing of the Dead: Overkill, was released in 2013.
