Don't Hold Back is the eighth studio album by folk singer and activist Holly Near, released in 1987 on her own Redwood Records label. Produced and arranged by Steve Wood, the album leans into a more pop-oriented sound than Near's earlier folk work, featuring a guest vocal from Kenny Loggins on "The Promise (How Can Anyone Know)."
The album also includes "Crushed," featuring guest vocals from Bonnie Raitt and Linda Tillery, along with the title track "Don't Hold Back." Recorded with a full session band including bassist Bob Glaub and drummer Tris Imboden, the album reflects Near's continued work blending personal and political songwriting.
