Hatchet

Hatchet is a 2006 American slasher film written and directed by Adam Green. The story takes place in the swamps of Louisiana, where a group of tourists on a haunted swamp tour find themselves stranded after their boat sinks. As they try to make their way back to civilization, they are hunted by a deformed and monstrous killer named Victor Crowley, who is seeking revenge for the accidental death of his family.  

The movie features a variety of horror movie tropes, including gore, jump scares, and dark humor. The characters are all unique and have their own personalities, which leads to some comedic moments amidst the terror. The film's special effects, particularly the makeup and prosthetics used to create Victor Crowley's disfigured appearance, are impressive.
