Hangman's Curse is a 2003 supernatural thriller film directed by Rafal Zielinski, based on a novel by Frank E. Peretti. The movie follows the Springfield family, who are sent to investigate strange occurrences at a high school in rural Washington, where several students have fallen ill after being bullied by a secret society known as "The Veritas Project."
The Springfield family consists of parents Nate and Sarah, and their teenage children Elisha and Elijah. They pose as new students and staff members at the school, trying to uncover the truth behind the strange happenings. They discover that the students who were targeted by The Veritas Project are experiencing hallucinations and physical symptoms, including a mysterious mark on their skin resembling a hangman's noose.
As the Springfield family delves deeper into the investigation, they encounter supernatural forces that seem to be connected to the school's past. They discover that the building was once a mental institution where cruel experiments were conducted on patients, and the spirits of those who suffered there are still haunting the school.
The movie features suspenseful and eerie scenes as the family tries to uncover the truth and prevent further harm to the students. It also explores themes of bullying, the power of peer pressure, and the consequences of unethical experimentation.
