Unusual Heat is the ninth studio album by the British-American rock band Foreigner. It was released on June 14, 1991. The album marked a significant departure from Foreigner's trademark sound, as it introduced a more contemporary and melodic rock approach with a heavier emphasis on keyboards and synthesizers.
"Unusual Heat" featured a new lineup for Foreigner, with Johnny Edwards as the lead vocalist, replacing original lead singer Lou Gramm. Despite the change in personnel and musical direction, the album received mixed reviews from critics and faced challenges in capturing the commercial success of Foreigner's earlier releases.
"Unusual Heat" did not achieve significant chart success. The album peaked at number 117 on the Billboard 200 chart, and none of its singles managed to crack the top 40 on the Billboard Hot 100. The lead single, "Lowdown and Dirty," reached number 4 on the Mainstream Rock Tracks chart but did not achieve mainstream crossover success.
