Foghat Rock and Roll Outlaws / Fool for the City is a double CD set that features two of Foghat's most popular albums from the 1970s: "Rock and Roll Outlaws" and "Fool for the City". Both albums were originally released on vinyl in 1974 and 1975, respectively.
The first disc, "Rock and Roll Outlaws", includes nine tracks that showcase Foghat's blues-based hard rock sound. The album features the hit single "Drive Me Home", as well as other notable tracks such as "I Just Want to Make Love to You" and "Road Fever". The band's signature sound is on full display here, with punchy guitar riffs, powerful vocals, and driving rhythms.
The second disc, "Fool for the City", includes eight tracks that continue in the same vein as the first album but also incorporate some funk and soul influences. The title track, "Fool for the City", is one of Foghat's most well-known songs and features a catchy riff and memorable chorus. Other standout tracks include "My Babe" and "Slow Ride", which features a slow, bluesy groove and a guitar solo that has become one of the most recognizable in rock music history.
