Father of the Bride is a 1991 comedy which stars Steve Martin as George Banks, a neurotic and overprotective father who struggles to come to terms with his daughter's impending marriage. The film is a comedy that explores the emotional journey of a father who must learn to let go of his daughter as she begins her own life with her fiancé.

The story begins with George's daughter Annie, played by Kimberly Williams-Paisley, announcing her engagement to her boyfriend, Bryan MacKenzie, played by George Newbern. George initially reacts with shock and disbelief, struggling to accept that his little girl is all grown up and ready to get married. As the wedding preparations begin, George becomes increasingly involved in the planning process, but his obsession with every detail causes tensions with his wife and family.

As the wedding day approaches, George's anxieties reach a boiling point, and he must come to terms with the fact that his daughter is moving on to a new phase of her life. The film is both humorous and heartfelt, exploring themes of family, love, and the bittersweet transition of letting go of a child.

Steve Martin delivers a standout performance as the conflicted and comedic George Banks, and the supporting cast, including Diane Keaton as George's wife and Martin Short as the eccentric wedding planner, provide plenty of laughs and memorable moments throughout the film
