Far And Away

Far and Away is a 1992 epic romantic drama directed by Ron Howard, released May 22, 1992 by Universal Pictures. Written by Bob Dolman from a story by Dolman and Howard, with a score by John Williams and cinematography by Mikael Salomon, the film stars Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman alongside Thomas Gibson, Robert Prosky, and Cyril Cusack.

Set in the late nineteenth century, the film follows Joseph Donnelly, a poor Irish tenant farmer, and Shannon Christie, the daughter of his family's landlord, as the two flee Ireland together for America in pursuit of a fresh start. Their journey takes them through the tenements of Boston, where Joseph turns to bare-knuckle boxing to survive, before the story builds to the Oklahoma land rush of 1893. Running time is 140 minutes for the theatrical cut.
