Enemy at the Gates is a historical drama film set during the Battle of Stalingrad in World War II. It tells the story of Vasili Zaytsev, a Russian sniper who becomes a national hero after killing numerous German soldiers. The film stars Jude Law as Zaytsev, Ed Harris as Major Walther von Pechmann, a German sniper sent to eliminate Zaytsev, and Rachel Weisz as Tania, a Russian woman who falls for Zaytsev. The film was produced by Jean-Jacques Annaud and directed by Jean-Jacques Annaud. It was released in 2001 and grossed over $125 million worldwide.
