Eddie  is a 1996 sports comedy film directed by Steve Rash and starring Whoopi Goldberg tells the story of Eddie Franklin, a lifelong fan of the New York Knicks basketball team who unexpectedly finds herself named as the team's new coach.

Eddie is a passionate and outspoken woman who quickly gains the attention of both the players and the media with her bold ideas and unconventional approach to coaching. Despite her lack of experience, she motivates the team to new heights and leads them to a series of victories.

As Eddie's star rises, she faces challenges from both within the team and from external pressures, including a demanding team owner and a skeptical sports media. She also develops a close relationship with one of the players, played by Malik Sealy.

The film features appearances by a number of real-life NBA players, including Dennis Rodman, John Salley, and Mark Jackson, as well as cameos by other celebrities like Frank Langella and Rick Fox.
