Dysfunctional is the seventh studio album by American heavy metal band Dokken, released in 1995. It marked the reunion of the classic Dokken lineup featuring Don Dokken (vocals), George Lynch (guitar), Jeff Pilson (bass), and Mick Brown (drums).
The album features a blend of traditional heavy metal with some grunge and alternative influences, reflecting the musical trends of the mid-1990s. It is characterized by its heavy guitar riffs, powerful vocals, and catchy hooks.
The opening track, "Inside Looking Out," sets the tone for the album with its pounding rhythm and Lynch's blistering guitar solos. "Hole in My Head" and "The Maze" feature more introspective lyrics and a slower, more melancholic pace, while "Too High to Fly" and "Dysfunctional" showcase the band's heavier side.
Other standout tracks include "Long Way Home," a catchy rock anthem with a memorable chorus, and "What Price," which features a bluesy guitar solo by Lynch. The album closes with "From the Beginning," a cover of the Emerson, Lake & Palmer classic.
