Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story is a 2004 sports comedy film directed by Rawson Marshall Thurber. The movie stars Vince Vaughn, Ben Stiller, and Christine Taylor and centers around a group of misfits who form a dodgeball team to compete in a high-stakes tournament.
The plot revolves around the misfortunes of Peter LaFleur (Vaughn), the owner of Average Joe's Gym, which is on the verge of bankruptcy. Peter decides to form a dodgeball team to compete in a national tournament in Las Vegas, hoping to win the $50,000 prize money and save his gym. However, they soon discover that their main competition is a team of ruthless professionals called the Globo Gym, led by the egotistical White Goodman (Stiller).
The movie features a variety of comedic characters, including a pirate, a nerd, a wannabe ninja, and a wheelchair-bound gamer, all of whom bring their unique skills to the dodgeball court. The film also includes numerous pop culture references and parodies of sports movie cliches.
