One Of The Fortunate Few is the twelfth studio album by American blues musician Delbert McClinton, released in 1997. The album is a mixture of blues, country, rock and soul, and features collaborations with a number of well-known musicians, including Bonnie Raitt, Vince Gill, and Patty Loveless.
The album opens with the upbeat "Better Off With The Blues," a song about a man who's come to terms with the fact that he's happier when he's sad. Other highlights on the album include "Monkey Around," a fun, horn-driven song about a woman who can't be tied down.
The album's title track, "One Of The Fortunate Few," is a heartfelt ballad about finding true love, and features beautiful harmony vocals from Patty Loveless.
