Passing Open Windows - A Symphonic Tribute To Queen is a tribute album to the British rock band Queen, arranged and conducted by David Palmer and performed by the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. The album was released in 1996 and features 12 tracks, each one a symphonic rendition of a classic Queen song.
David Palmer, who had previously worked as an arranger and conductor on Queen's albums "A Night at the Opera" and "A Day at the Races," was commissioned by the band's management to create symphonic versions of some of their biggest hits. Palmer took on the challenge and worked closely with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra to bring the music to life.
The album features well-known Queen tracks such as "Bohemian Rhapsody," "We Are the Champions," "Somebody to Love," and "Killer Queen," among others. The orchestral arrangements breathe new life into the songs, with soaring strings, bold brass, and dynamic percussion adding a grandiose and cinematic quality to the music.
