Darby O'Gill and the Little People is a 1959 live-action fantasy film produced by Walt Disney Productions. The movie is based on a collection of Irish stories and legends about leprechauns and other supernatural creatures. The film was directed by Robert Stevenson and starred Albert Sharpe, Sean Connery, and Janet Munro.

The story follows the adventures of Darby O'Gill, an old Irishman who is the caretaker of Lord Fitzpatrick's estate. Darby is known for his stories about leprechauns and is often teased for his tall tales. However, he soon finds himself face-to-face with the little people after he captures their king, Brian Connors.

With the help of his daughter Katie and a young and handsome Sean Connery as Michael McBride, Darby must outsmart the leprechauns and avoid their mischief. The film features several musical numbers, including "The Wishing Song," "Pretty Irish Girl," and "The Fox Chase."

"Darby O'Gill and the Little People" is known for its stunning special effects, particularly in its portrayal of the leprechauns and their magical world. The film also features authentic Irish culture, including traditional music and dance, making it a beloved classic for both Irish and non-Irish audiences.
