Damn Yankees is a 1958 musical film directed by George Abbott and Stanley Donen. It is based on the Broadway musical of the same name, which was inspired by the novel "The Year the Yankees Lost the Pennant" by Douglas Wallop.

The story follows Joe Boyd, a middle-aged baseball fan who makes a deal with the devil to become a young and talented player for the Washington Senators. However, in exchange for his newfound success, he must give up his soul.

The movie is full of catchy songs and dance numbers, including the popular tunes "Heart" and "Whatever Lola Wants." The cast includes Gwen Verdon as Lola, Ray Walston as the devil, and Tab Hunter as Joe Boyd/Joe Hardy.

The film is known for its colorful costumes and sets, as well as its energetic choreography. It also features a comedic subplot involving Joe's wife, played by Shannon Bolin, and her attempts to win back her husband's soul.
