The Curse of Chucky is a 2013 horror movie directed by Don Mancini, who also wrote the screenplay. It is the sixth installment in the "Child's Play" franchise and serves as a direct sequel to the 1998 movie "Bride of Chucky".
The story revolves around Nica Pierce, a wheelchair-bound young woman who receives a mysterious package containing a doll named Chucky. Nica's mother is later found dead, apparently from a suicide, but Nica begins to suspect that Chucky may be behind her mother's death.
As Nica's suspicions grow, more deaths occur, and it becomes clear that Chucky is on a mission to kill everyone in Nica's family. The movie also reveals the origin of the Chucky doll and explores the character's backstory.
