"CSI: Crime Scene Investigation" is an American crime drama television series that premiered on CBS in 2000. The complete first season of the show consists of 23 episodes and originally aired from October 2000 to May 2001.
The series follows a team of forensic scientists and investigators who work for the Las Vegas Police Department's Crime Scene Investigation (CSI) division. The team is headed by Gil Grissom (William Petersen), a brilliant forensic entomologist who leads the investigation into some of the most complex and high-profile crimes in Las Vegas.
Throughout the first season, the CSI team investigates a wide range of cases, including murders, suicides, and accidental deaths. The show is known for its meticulous attention to detail and scientific accuracy, as the team uses cutting-edge forensic techniques and technology to solve each case.
The first season also explores the personal lives of the members of the CSI team, including Grissom's struggles with a hearing problem and his complicated relationship with his ex-girlfriend, Sara Sidle (Jorja Fox). Other members of the team include Catherine Willows (Marg Helgenberger), a former stripper turned investigator; Nick Stokes (George Eads), a former football star; and Warrick Brown (Gary Dourdan), a recovering gambling addict.
The show's attention to detail and innovative storytelling techniques, including flashbacks and nonlinear narratives, set it apart from other crime dramas at the time. The first season also features guest appearances from notable actors such as Lucy Liu, Scott Wilson, and Alan Dale.
