    "Criminal Minds" is a popular American crime drama television series that premiered on CBS on September 22, 2005. Season 2 of the show continued to follow the Behavioral Analysis Unit (BAU) of the FBI, a team of elite profilers tasked with analyzing and understanding the psychology of violent criminals in order to catch them.

    The season comprises of 23 episodes and was aired from September 20, 2006, to May 16, 2007. In this season, the main characters of the show return, including:

    1. Jason Gideon (Mandy Patinkin) - the senior profiler and team leader
    2. Aaron Hotchner (Thomas Gibson) - the unit chief 
    3. Derek Morgan (Shemar Moore) - the confident and assertive profiler
    4. Dr. Spencer Reid (Matthew Gray Gubler) - the socially awkward but brilliant young profiler
    5. Elle Greenaway (Lola Glaudini) - the skilled profiler with a strong intuition
    6. Jennifer "JJ" Jareau (AJ Cook) - the media liaison for the team
    7. Penelope Garcia (Kirsten Vangsness) - the tech analyst who helps the team with computer research 

    Throughout the season, the BAU continues to investigate various types of violent crimes, such as serial killings, kidnappings, and murders, in different parts of the United States. The season also introduces new characters, including Emily Prentiss (Paget Brewster), a new member of the team, and Jason Gideon's former mentor, who provides valuable insight into the team's cases.

    Season 2 is notable for its intense storylines, with each episode focusing on a new case that is often emotionally charged and psychologically complex. The season also sees the team members confronting their own personal demons, including Hotchner's divorce and Morgan's struggle to come to terms with his traumatic past.
