Citizen Soldier is a documentary-style film that follows a group of Oklahoma Army National Guardsmen during their deployment to Afghanistan. The movie was directed by David Salzberg and Christian Tureaud and was released in 2016.

The film tells the story of the 45th Infantry Brigade Combat Team, a National Guard unit composed of soldiers from Oklahoma and other states, as they embark on a dangerous mission in Afghanistan. The soldiers are shown in their day-to-day routines, from training exercises in the United States to combat operations in Afghanistan.

The movie focuses on the experiences of several individual soldiers, including Sergeant Eran Harrill, who struggles with the physical and emotional toll of combat, and Specialist Tyler Smith, who grapples with the guilt of leaving his wife and newborn daughter at home.

"Citizen Soldier" combines actual footage shot by the soldiers themselves with professional filmmaking techniques to create a gritty and realistic portrayal of modern warfare. The movie also features interviews with the soldiers and their families, providing insight into the sacrifices and challenges faced by those who serve in the military.
