The Getaway is the ninth studio album by British-Irish singer-songwriter Chris de Burgh, released in 1982. The album features a mix of pop, rock, and folk influences, and includes some of de Burgh's most enduring and beloved songs.
The album's lead single, "Don't Pay the Ferryman," became a top 40 hit in the United States and remains one of de Burgh's most popular songs. Other notable tracks on the album include "Ship to Shore," "The Getaway," and "The Revolution."
"The Getaway" was produced by Rupert Hine, who had previously worked with artists such as Tina Turner and Howard Jones, and features contributions from a variety of guest musicians, including drummer Simon Phillips and saxophonist Raphael Ravenscroft.
