Centurion

Centurion is a 2010 British historical action film written and directed by Neil Marshall. Set in AD 117, the film is a brutal, loose interpretation of the legendary disappearance of the Roman Empire’s Ninth Legion in Caledonia, modern-day Scotland. The story follows Centurion Quintus Dias, played by Michael Fassbender, the sole survivor of a massacre who subsequently joins the Ninth Legion under General Titus Flavius Virilus, played by Dominic West. The legion is ambushed and all but destroyed by the Picts. Dias and a small, elite group of survivors must then navigate the unforgiving landscape to escape an enemy determined to wipe out every last Roman, led by the mute and vengeful Pictish tracker, Etain, played by Olga Kurylenko.
