Casting Crowns' self-titled debut album was released on October 7, 2003, by Beach Street Records. It is the first studio album by the Christian rock band. The album incorporates a pop rock and rock sound, with the main instruments used being guitar, keyboard and violin.
The album was positively received by music critics, many of whom praised the album's lyrics and production quality. Some of the hit songs include "What If His People Prayed", "If We Are the Body", and "Who Am I".
The album reached #59 on the US Billboard 200, #2 on the US Christian Albums, #1 on the US Heatseekers Albums, and is certified 2X Platinum by the RIAA.
