Blue Bloods is an American police procedural drama series that premiered on CBS in 2010. The second season of the show aired from September 2011 to May 2012 and consisted of 22 episodes.
The series follows the lives of the Reagan family, a multi-generational family of police officers in New York City. The family is headed by Frank Reagan (Tom Selleck), the Police Commissioner of New York City and a former NYPD detective. Frank's sons, Danny (Donnie Wahlberg), Jamie (Will Estes), and Joe (who was killed in the line of duty before the show began), all work as police officers in various capacities.
Season 2 picks up where the first season left off, with the Reagan family continuing to navigate their personal and professional lives. The season begins with the aftermath of the shooting that ended Season 1, with the family dealing with the fallout and trying to find justice for the victim.
Throughout the season, the Reagan family deals with a variety of cases and personal challenges. Danny investigates a drug cartel while also dealing with the aftermath of his partner's death. Jamie struggles with the pressure of being a police officer while also trying to keep his personal life in order. Frank deals with political pressure and navigating the complex world of law enforcement in New York City.
The show also focuses on the personal relationships within the Reagan family. Frank deals with the death of his wife, while also trying to reconnect with his estranged son, Sean (Andrew Terraciano). Danny and his wife, Linda (Amy Carlson), work to balance their careers and family life, while Jamie and his girlfriend, Eddie (Vanessa Ray), navigate their new romantic relationship.
The season ends with a cliffhanger, as the Reagan family faces a shocking tragedy that threatens to tear them apart.
