Blood, Sweat & Tears is the second studio album by the band, released December 11, 1968 on Columbia Records and produced by James William Guercio. This self-titled album marked the debut of David Clayton-Thomas as lead vocalist and became the group's most commercially successful release, topping the US charts for seven weeks and winning the Grammy Award for Album of the Year.
The album includes three consecutive top-five singles: "You've Made Me So Very Happy," "Spinning Wheel," and "And When I Die," alongside a cover of Billie Holiday's "God Bless the Child." This remastered 2000 reissue adds two previously unissued bonus tracks, "More and More" and "Smiling Phases," recorded live August 2, 1968 at the Cafe Au Go Go in New York City.
