Bad English is the self-titled debut album by the American rock band Bad English, released in 1989. The band was formed by several well-known musicians, including John Waite (formerly of The Babys), Jonathan Cain and Neal Schon (both from Journey), and Ricky Phillips and Deen Castronovo (both from The Storm).
The album features a blend of hard rock, pop rock, and power ballads, and is known for its big, anthemic choruses and polished production. The album opens with the hit single "Best of What I Got," a catchy rock track with a sing-along chorus and some great guitar work.
The self-titled album received commercial success and reached No. 21 on the Billboard 200 chart. It was certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) for selling over a million copies in the United States. The album spawned several hit singles, including "When I See You Smile," which became Bad English's biggest hit and reached No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Another notable single from the album was "Price of Love," which peaked at No. 5 on the same chart.
