Assassin's Creed: Revelations is an action-adventure video game developed by Ubisoft Montreal, serving as the fourth main installment in the Assassin's Creed series and the final chapter in Ezio Auditore da Firenze's trilogy. In this game, master assassin Ezio travels to Constantinople, the heart of the Ottoman Empire, in search of five keys to unlock a library built by the legendary Altaïr Ibn-La'Ahad, the protagonist of the original Assassin's Creed. The narrative intertwines Ezio's journey with playable flashbacks from Altaïr's life, as well as segments featuring modern-day protagonist Desmond Miles. Revelations introduced new gameplay mechanics such as the hookblade for faster traversal and combat, and an advanced bomb crafting system, alongside the returning city-liberation and Assassin recruit management features.
Assassin's Creed: Revelations was released in November 2011 for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, with the Microsoft Windows version following in December 2011. It was later included in The Ezio Collection for current-generation consoles.
Commercially, Assassin's Creed: Revelations shipped 7 million units by February 2012.
