Released on November 16, 2010, Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood is the direct sequel to the critically acclaimed Assassin's Creed II and the second chapter in the celebrated Ezio Trilogy. Developed by Ubisoft Montreal, the game moves the action to the sprawling, historical city of Rome, where legendary Master Assassin Ezio Auditore da Firenze must rebuild the Assassin Brotherhood to strike at the heart of the corrupt Templar Order and the powerful Borgia family. The production introduced several major innovations to the series, most notably the ability for players to recruit and train their own guild of assassins, summoning them into battle with a single command. The gameplay further refined the series' signature parkour and social stealth mechanics while introducing a sophisticated new combat system that rewarded aggressive, fluid strikes. Beyond the 15-hour single-player campaign, Brotherhood was the first title in the franchise to feature a dedicated multiplayer mode, allowing players to assume the roles of different Templar agents in a deadly game of cat-and-mouse across various historical maps. With its rich narrative and deep mechanical upgrades, Brotherhood is often cited as a high-water mark for the series and a definitive open-world experience for the PlayStation 3.
