Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood is an action-adventure video game developed by Ubisoft Montreal, serving as the third main installment in the Assassin's Creed series and a direct sequel to Assassin's Creed II. The game continues the story of Ezio Auditore da Firenze, a Master Assassin, as he takes the fight against the Templars, led by the powerful Borgia family, to Rome. Players explore an open world, primarily focusing on combat, climbing, and stealth, while also introducing the ability for Ezio to recruit and command an entire brotherhood of Assassins to aid him in his mission to liberate Rome. The game also notably introduced a class-based multiplayer mode, a first for the series.
Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood first released in November 2010 for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, with a Microsoft Windows version following in March 2011. It was later re-released as part of The Ezio Collection for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch.
The game was commercially successful, having shipped 7.2 million units by May 2011.
