Asia - Alpha

Alpha is the second studio album by British rock band Asia, released on April 24, 1983. It is the band's most commercially successful album, featuring the hit singles "Don't Cry" and "The Smile Has Left Your Eyes." 

The album showcased Asia's trademark sound, characterized by melodic rock songs with a progressive edge and strong vocal harmonies. "Alpha" was produced by Mike Stone, who had previously worked with bands like Queen and Journey, and it continued the band's collaboration with songwriter John Wetton, guitarist Steve Howe, keyboardist Geoff Downes, and drummer Carl Palmer.

"Alpha" peaked at number six on the Billboard 200 chart in the United States. It spent a total of 24 weeks on the chart. The lead single, "Don't Cry," reached number 10 on the Billboard Hot 100 and became one of Asia's most recognizable songs. The follow-up single, "The Smile Has Left Your Eyes," reached number 34 on the Hot 100.
