Aldo Nova is the debut studio album by Canadian rock musician Aldo Nova, released on January 18, 1982. It quickly gained traction, reaching number 8 on the Billboard 200 chart. The album's success was further solidified by its certification as Gold by the RIAA on May 14, 1982. Over time, it continued to resonate with audiences, achieving Platinum status on February 14, 1989, and eventually Double Platinum on December 5, 1994.
The album spawned two notable singles on the Hot 100 chart: "Foolin' Yourself," which peaked at No. 65, and the smash hit "Fantasy," reaching an impressive No. 23 spot. Despite Aldo Nova being recognized as a one-hit wonder due to having just one top 40 hit in the United States, "Fantasy" has remained an iconic track, even earning a spot on VH1's list of the 100 greatest '80s one-hit wonders at No. 77.
