The fifth studio album by legendary country music group Alabama, Feels So Right, was released on February 1, 1981 by RCA Nashville. Marking a turning point for the band, it became their first No. 1 album on the Billboard Top Country Albums chart. The album's success extended beyond the country genre, reaching No. 16 on the Billboard 200 chart and staying there for an impressive three years, the longest of any Alabama album.
Feels So Right wasn't just a commercial success; it was critically acclaimed as well. The album earned the band an Academy of Country Music Award for Album of the Year and nominations for the Country Music Association Award for Album of the Year, the American Music Award for Favorite Country Album, and the Grammy Award for Best Country Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal.
The album features several hit songs that remain popular today, including the title track "Feels So Right," the nostalgic "Old Flame," and the romantic "Love in the First Degree."
