The DVD Action Triple Feature, Vol. 1, released in 2012, brings together three action-packed movies on a single disc. This collection offers viewers a variety of thrilling narratives and performances.
The first film on the DVD is XIII: The Conspiracy, a television miniseries that was originally broadcast in France in October 2008. Directed by Duane Clark, it stars Stephen Dorff as XIII, an amnesiac former secret agent trying to uncover his past after being accused of assassinating the U.S. President. Val Kilmer plays La Mangouste, a ruthless killer. The miniseries was produced by Prodigy Pictures and Cipango Films. It was later broadcast in the United States on NBC in February 2009.
The second movie featured is JCVD, a 2008 Belgian action comedy-drama film directed by Mabrouk El Mechri. In a unique and self-referential role, Jean-Claude Van Damme plays a fictionalized version of himself, a down-on-his-luck action star who gets caught in the middle of a post office robbery. The film also stars François Damiens and Zinedine Soualem. It was produced by Sidonie Dumas Fiszman, Marc Patrick Quinet, Jani Thiltges, Jean-Claude Van Damme, and Arlette Zylberberg.
The final film in this triple feature is Brotherhood, a thriller released in 2010. Directed and co-written by Will Canon, the movie follows a group of college fraternity pledges who accidentally kill their pledge master during a hazing ritual and the escalating panic and violence that ensues as they try to cover it up. The main cast includes Jon Foster, Trevor Morgan, and Lou Taylor Pucci. It was produced by Chris Pollack, Steve Hein, Tim O'Hair, and Jason Croft.
