Inspired by the dark themes of Shakespeare's Macbeth, A Haunting in Cawdor is a psychological horror film that blurs the lines between stage performance and terrifying reality. The story follows Vivian Miller, portrayed by Shelby Young, a young woman serving her court-mandated community service at a dilapidated theater camp in the remote town of Cawdor. Under the direction of the ambitious and eccentric Lawrence Fenton, played by Cary Elwes, the campers prepare for a production of "The Scottish Play." However, as Vivian discovers a mysterious tape from a failed production twenty years earlier, she begins to experience supernatural occurrences that suggest a malevolent force is tied to the theater. The ensemble cast includes Michael Welch and Allie DeBerry, as the line between their characters and their actual lives begins to dangerously thin. Directed by Phil Wurtzel, this suspenseful thriller explores ambition, guilt, and the echoes of the past, delivering a modern twist on a classic tragedy where the final act may prove fatal.
