The movie follows a young boy named Mark (Elijah Wood) who goes to stay with his aunt and uncle after his mother's death. There, he befriends his seemingly perfect cousin Henry (Macaulay Culkin), but soon discovers Henry's disturbingly violent and manipulative behavior. Mark must find a way to survive Henry's dark tendencies with the help of his aunt (Wendy Crewson).
