Masterminds is a 2016 American heist comedy film directed by Jared Hess and starring Zach Galifianakis, Kristen Wiig, Owen Wilson, and Jason Sudeikis. The film is based on the true story of the 1997 Loomis Fargo robbery in North Carolina, which was one of the largest cash heists in United States history.
The movie follows the story of David Ghantt (Galifianakis), an armored truck driver who is convinced by his co-worker, Kelly Campbell (Wiig), to rob his own company. With the help of a group of dim-witted criminals led by Steve Chambers (Wilson), they manage to steal over $17 million in cash.
