The classic arcade icon returns in this reimagined 3D adventure for the PlayStation platform. Released in 1997, this title was published by Hasbro Interactive and developed by SCE Cambridge Studio. Players navigate the titular character through nine sprawling worlds and over thirty diverse levels, including bustling city streets, treacherous swamps, and dark caves. The gameplay maintains the core mechanics of the original while introducing new obstacles, power ups, and a multiplayer race mode for up to four players. Technical development was led by producer James Billington and lead programmer Chris Sorrell. The soundtrack features high energy compositions by Andrew Barnabas and Paul Arnold, designed to complement the fast paced action. This release successfully transitioned the franchise into the 32 bit era, becoming one of the most commercially successful titles on the system.
