Love Story is a romantic drama film released in 1970, directed by Arthur Hiller. It is based on a novel of the same name by Erich Segal, who also wrote the screenplay. The film stars Ryan O'Neal as Oliver Barrett IV, a wealthy Harvard student, and Ali MacGraw as Jennifer Cavalleri, a working-class Radcliffe student, and their poignant love story.

The movie follows Oliver and Jennifer as they meet and fall in love despite their differences in social status. Oliver is a preppy, privileged young man who comes from a wealthy family, while Jennifer is a witty, intelligent, and free-spirited woman with a passion for music. Despite the disapproval of Oliver's father, who does not approve of Jennifer's working-class background, the two young lovers defy the odds and pursue their relationship with unwavering devotion.

Their love blossoms and they get married, but their journey is not without challenges. They face financial struggles, societal pressures, and personal tragedies that put their love to the test. However, Oliver and Jennifer remain committed to each other and their bond deepens, as they navigate the highs and lows of life together.

"Love Story" is known for its iconic line "Love means never having to say you're sorry," which has become a famous quote associated with the film. The movie's theme song, "Where Do I Begin? (Love Story)" composed by Francis Lai, also gained immense popularity and has become a classic love ballad.
