Astronaut is a 2019 Canadian drama film directed by Shelagh McLeod and starring Richard Dreyfuss in the lead role. The movie tells the story of a retired widower named Angus Stewart (played by Dreyfuss) who has always dreamed of going to space.
Angus lives in a nursing home and spends most of his time looking up at the stars and watching videos about space exploration. One day, he enters a contest organized by a billionaire entrepreneur who is offering a trip to space for the winner. Despite being the oldest participant, Angus wins the contest and is given the opportunity to fulfill his lifelong dream of going to space.
However, Angus faces various challenges along the way, including skepticism from his family, health issues, and the competition from other contestants who will stop at nothing to win the trip.
