Arthur Christmas is an animated comedy and adventure film released in 2011, directed by Sarah Smith and Barry Cook. The film presents a humorous and heartwarming take on the story of Santa Claus and his family, with a modern twist.
The movie follows the story of Arthur Claus (voiced by James McAvoy), Santa's clumsy and good-hearted younger son, who works in the mail room of the North Pole's high-tech operation center on Christmas Eve. When a child's gift is accidentally misplaced and left behind, jeopardizing the magic of Christmas for one child, Arthur embarks on an epic mission to deliver the gift before it's too late.
With the help of his feisty and Grandsanta (voiced by Bill Nighy), a retired and eccentric former Santa, and Bryony (voiced by Ashley Jensen), an enthusiastic but inexperienced wrapping elf, Arthur sets off on an adventure to deliver the gift using an old-fashioned sleigh and reindeer.
As Arthur encounters various obstacles and challenges along the way, including a rival high-tech delivery system and the ticking clock of Christmas morning, he learns the true meaning of Christmas and the importance of spreading joy and kindness to every child.
